Truly Moving Pictures Summer Intern
Heartland Truly Moving Pictures has a Truly Moving Pictures internship available starting in May of 2007 and concluding in August. Qualified candidates must be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office products and possess strong communication skills, along with a background in film. A positive attitude and willingness to work effectively as part of a team are a must.
The following tasks will be assigned to this position:
- Assist Film & Research Coordinator with researching and finding potential Truly Moving Picture Award-winning films
- Management of the films and selection process
- Coordinate with studios representatives after film receives the award
- Work with Web Administrator in marketing Truly Moving Pictures via the internet
- Approximately 15 to 20 hours per week
Operations Intern
Heartland Truly Moving Pictures has an Operations internship available starting in May of 2007 and concluding in August. Qualified candidates must be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office products and possess strong communication skills. A positive attitude and willingness to work effectively as part of a team are a must.
The following duties/tasks will be assigned to this position:
- Assist Director of Operations with various projects related to the 2007 Heartland Film Festival and Heartland Truly Moving Pictures
- Work with Communications Coordinator to manage and facilitate various marketing and PR projects as they relate to Heartland Truly Moving Pictures and the Film Festival
- Various projects as assigned for the Truly Moving Pictures campaign and Film Festival
- Approximately 15-20 hours/week
Advancement Intern
Heartland Truly Moving Pictures has an Advancement Internship available starting in May of 2007 and concluding in August. Qualified candidates must be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office products and possess strong communication skills. A positive attitude and willingness to work effectively as part of a team are a must.
The position will be responsible for the following tasks/duties:
- Assist Advancement department with various fund-raising projects and events
- Work with Director of Advancement to facilitate sponsor contracts and develop relationships
- Database management
- Assist with answering of phones
- Various projects as assigned for Heartland Truly Moving Pictures
- Approximately 20 hours/week
Summer Film Intern
Heartland Film Festival seeks three interns to research, view and critique film entries for the 2007 Heartland Film Festival. Interns will help Film and Research Coordinator research independent films appropriate for entry to the Festival. Interns will also view and evaluate film entries, provide written reviews, discuss films with Heartland selection staff, and compile synopses for the selected films. Interns will evaluate films based upon technical and artistic merit and reflection of the Heartland Film Festival mission, “To recognize and honor filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life.”
The internship will run from May 15 to July 15. Interns will view approximately 100 short and feature length films on VHS and DVD. Interns may view films in the Heartland office or pick-up films to view at home. The internship includes a small stipend and Festival tickets.
Interns are expected to have a background in film and proven ability to think critically about film. Interns must be available to pick-up films and attend meetings in downtown Indianapolis during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, approximately once a week.
